A bridge in Sentosa

Inside Sentosa, you can go around the different attractions by taking the shuttles inside. One of them is the beach area which i guess; is man-made.

This bridge lets people cross to a small islet which has a tall structure which gives a great vantage point of the beach.

Views from the Cable Car to Sentosa Island

Going to Sentosa

Sentosa in Sigapore is just a small islet that can be seen almost in its entirety from the cable car going there.

Views from a boat ride at Clark Quay

At Clark Quay, we took a "mini-cruise". The boat ride was quite short and the vessel quite small. There were around fifteen people in the ride. We went around an area roughly about the same size, the dinner cruise ride in Manila Bay takes. We got to see a big merlion in a well lit riverside park that we wouldn't have found if we were just walking around.
After around 20-30 minutes, we got off at the same station where we got in. We could have gotten off at the other side but we did not want to get lost at night. From one bank to the other, the distance is just the same as that of the Pasig River, but here, there was no unpleasant odor wafting about.

Riverside Point at Clark Quay; Singapore

From the Night Safari, we just got a cab again to go back to our hotel. From there, we decided to go for a walk. Even it was already at night; the streets were well lit and we felt safe and confident out in the streets. It was much like Ayala Avenue in Makati.
And after quite long stroll, we luckily we found ourselves in Clark Quay. We just went where we saw a lot of people. It was so hard to get oriented through the maps we have; because we can't identify the different landmarks and street names at night. But see, everything works out great.

In the Singapore Night Safari Park

After a few days in Bali, we then went back to Singapore and this time we stayed for a couple of days.
Arriving in the evening in our Hotel in Singapore, we got into a cab to go to the Night Safari immediately after checking in. Getting in a cab was more expensive than finding a bus ride, but it sure saved us a lot of time and hassles.

It was prohibited to take pictures of animals using a flash camera during the ride in the Night Safari. We did not have night vision available. (A cab driver even commented that it was better to visit the Singapore Zoo next to it during the day time.) But we also got too see lots of animals as there were dim lights in the animal enclosures.
We had to content with pictures in the Park without the animals.

On a Sunset Dinner Cruise

On our last night in Bali; we went for a dinner cruise after another half-day tour package. We decided to get some relaxation. The cruise just started before sunset and we got great photos on deck where a band was playing. After that we went inside the wide air-conditioned cabin to have a sumptous dinner buffet. There were around 30 to 40 tourists on the cruise. A couple of honey-mooners were also with our group.

During dinner, there was a program which included a magician/comedian, traditonal balinese dancers and a disco.

In Manila Bay, we also have a dinner cruise with a band on deck. It is not air-conditioned though. But like the one in Bali, it just goes around a relatively small area. And again like in Bali, we also saw lots of korean tourists.

After the cruise, we again went back to Kuta for some last minute night shopping.

Bali: Ground Zero Memorial

On the way to Kuta, we passed the memorial for the Bali Bombings a few years back. The memorial was on the site where several explosions (including a car bomb) rocked Bali. It had quite an eerie feeling when our guide pointed out the exact locations.

The restaurants and bars in the area had only few patrons and tourist arrivals has never recovered since then.

Sailfin Restaurant

After a day of touring, we went to this restaurant in Kuta. The Sailfin restaurant was just a stone's throw from a wide beach front area. Kuta is a place where tourists usually enjoy the fun and night life in Bali. That night however, there were just a few people on the beach and it was quite dark. The restaurant had a number patrons but most of the bars and nightspots we passed by on the way to Kuta had only a sprinkling of guests. Bali is still sufering from the spillover effects of the bombing from a few years back. It has kept tourists away for some time already.

The food was great and there were generous serving portions. They had the usual grilled fares and we enjoyed a good meal. After dinner, we went around the many souvenir shops and stores nearby.
